Home and Hearth

When we were house hunting in July, I don't think I even noticed the fireplace in this house. We had seen so many and on hot blistering New England summer days of real estate open houses, you are asking so many more questions about air conditioning than fireplaces.

But winter always rolls around, or comes crashing down around us is a better verb I suppose after the snow the grey sky dumped on our heads this past week and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my fireplace. I don't know what I'd do without it.

The first year in a new house has many surprises (good and bad) as you learn to live together and the fireplace is one of the best unexpected features. Back to the couch with more tea to watch the fireplace as the afternoon turns to evening.
