LA Times Newsroom History Yesterday

Brittney's divorce wasn't the only news out of LA yesterday. There was quite a bit of news out of the LA Times' newsroom yesterday. Here's Reuters/Yahoo on the story:
NEW YORK/LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Los Angeles Times editor Dean Baquet, who strongly resisted corporate parent Tribune Co.'s plan to cut staff, resigned on Tuesday after losing his battle, the paper's publisher said.

In a somber meeting with hundreds of staff in the newsroom, publisher David Hiller said, "Dean and I spoke, and we decided we really have a different vision of where this newspaper is going." He added that there would be staff cuts next year but declined to say how many or whether they would be achieved by attrition or layoffs.
For this to go down in the midst of Election Day coverage must have been quite something to witness. Holy crap!
