PR Folks Who Get It

This conference, The Blog Business Summit, has been a lot of fun, but also a great education. Yesterday we were talking about RSS, and especially about bloggers and how PR professionals can use them, court them, support them. Most bloggers don't like PR people, but I love the good ones and have a ton of respect for what they do -- I couldn't do it. It's tough!

We talked about the many sins "PR Folks Who Don't Get It" (PRFWDGI) can commit. And I was happy to talk about PR Folks Who Get It (PRFWGI) like Racepoint Group who we work with. Malinda Banish, Doug Fraim, Ginger Lennon and Meghan Journey take a bow! They know how to talk to bloggers (like me), they know which bloggers "match" which announcement, they REALLY get what a quirky misfit culture bloggers are, they get how key WOM (word-of-mouth) marketing is and that this is what blogs are all about.

Their fearless leader, Larry Weber, can be heard here.

More on the PR sins later ... we came up with a long list.
