Cross-Country Skiing First Time This Year

I couldn't resist. It's still snowing and we'll probably pass a foot of new snow.

I dug my skis and poles out of storage (the Christmas ornaments and Nativity Scene will be the next items to leave their dusty shelves) and got suited up. I have this pink wool sherpa hat with braided long strings that come down on each side. They are handy to tug on with my ski mitten when I want my hat pulled down tighter on my head.

By the time I came back after an hour and 1/2 out there in the storm, the hat was covered with snow and the braided pink strings were covered with snow, like thick white ropes.

It's been incredibly strong and windy and did I mention ... there was lightning and THUNDER! Wild storm.
