Please Don't Make Me Go There

I've been writing a story, a fictional story, and it's almost done but I'm balking, because I have some annoyingly boisterous, head-strong, trouble-making characters who want the story to end in a crazy place. I can see it. Like a little train wreck they've been planning, and I don't want to go there.

But ...

Sometimes, your characters know best and you have to follow them down their convoluted little path of shenanigans, even if you end up just wanting to kick them in the head for being so rude and rotten.

So, today, I guess, I'll give up and give in and let them take me where they will. But I won't like it.
