Holding Men To A Higher Standard

Oh, men, you are SO not going to want to hear this. I was thinking about dating again and what's going on out there. I think I have a sense of a seismic rumbling in dating.

Here's the deal -- women are getting the upper hand.

Women are holding men to a higher standard -- the SAME higher standard women have been held to for years.

Women are expected to have:

1. good bodies
2. good clothes
3. cute shoes
4. good senses of humor
5. good manners
6. good jobs
7. good credit
8. nice places to live
9. be good cooks
10. be good in bed.

And with the high divorce rate, longer life expectancies and the legacy of feminism, women are holding men to the same expectations. (Especially in the case of baby boomer hot women like Demi Moore.) Women feel men must have:

1. good bodies
2. good clothes
3. let's just say, nice shoes
4. good senses of humor
5. good manners
6. good jobs
7. good credit
8. nice places to live
9. be good cooks
10. be good in bed

And here's the very BAD NEWS -- all the girls are talking to one another about it, yes, right here on the net. They're telling all the secrets of men they date -- in fact, I'm surprised there aren't "HE'S A DUD" dating sights were women warn other women about duds they've dated. (Just a matter of time I think -- imagine it like eBay on Estrogen -- yikes!)

Guys used to be able to get away with hot tempers, fat bellies, shitty manners, so-so-performance in bed, not smelling good ... but that's all over.

Also, women are taking a page from the male play book -- dating lots of guys and comparing one to the other. It's not that women are rejecting guys who don't cut it -- they are, but only because they see better. Rather, I think men who are better at delivering the goods on the list above push the other guys out of the running. It's not that we are saying shape up or ship out, it's that when we see something better, we go for it.
