Wanna Be A Longshoreman?

Here's a story about a need for longshoremen in LA -- 3000 jobs got 300,000 applications and they posted the names of the lucky people who got jobs on the Net. That last part surprised me. These are blue-collar folks who don't seem very net-centric to me. Wonder why they did that.

It pays about $100K a year with really REAL benefits. Not a bad gig, unless a new Honda falls on your head, I suppose.

And what does it say that suddenly there's a rush of goods from Asia coming in ... maybe this economy actually is improving.
