ClubMom: Big Thanks

So now that I'm back from Menlo Park, I want to thank all the bloggers who participated in our meeting with ClubMom that took place Tuesday. It was an amazing group ... just terrific. (I've blogged about every one of them below. If they aren't in your news aggregator, add them today.)

Big big thanks to all the ClubMom folks, Michael Sanchez, Andrew Shue, Alexandra Alexovsky, Tracy O'Dell, and Shana Stephenson, who made it a terrific time, full of fun, but also serious strategy discussions of all things bloggish, RSSish, etc.

Also big thanks to our hosts, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, where a glass conference roomful of 14 women and 2 men got a lot of doubletakes by passers-by. The receptionists and I chatted at the end of the day about how great it was to see so many women at DFJ.

I expect to see many more conference rooms full of women at VC firms like DFJ. They really get the most obvious fact about Web 2.0 -- women are the next big thing when it comes to Social Software and the Web 2.0 business boom.

If you want serious ROI, invest in women. Just ask Mena Trott, Meg Hourihan, Caterina Fake who brought you respectively SixApart, Blogger and Flickr. The women to watch in this space are superstars. If those three don't get you excited, wait and watch some more of my girls: Mary Hodder, Susan Mernit, Liz Lawley, Lisa Stone, Jory Des Jardins, Elisa Camahort, Gina Trapani, Maryam Scoble, Wendy Koslow, danah boyd, Tina Sharkey, and Amanda Congdon, just to name a few.

BTW, if you want to see another great parade of great women -- don't miss the SXSW Conference in Austin, TX in March, another group that GETS WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS and understands they are the perfect place to be investing your time and money.
