Let-Them-Eat-Cake-Cluelessness

I've been writing about this for a long time, but it is finally coming home to roost, so I thought I'd mention it one more time. The recent evidence of this attitude in Bush's demeanor at the first debate was the perfect example.

The wealthy in this country -- and especially the entire Bush administration -- are so grievously out of touch with how the rest of the people (not so wealthy) in this country are living, that they find having to answer to anyone other than their friends who summer in Kennebunkport extremely annoying.

It was written all over Bush's face during the debate. His posture was impatient, peevish and annoyed that he had to answer to anyone. Why should he have to answer to the American public -- who the hell do they think they are?

It was pure Monarchy for all to see. King George and all that. Of course, most ironic, is that he's busy hard selling Democracy all over the world ... or at least he calls it that.
